You may be an atheist, but don’t be ignorant. In other words, do not oppose the Rishis and sages of Sanatan Dharma. Don’t call them mythological or label their knowledge as mere “mythological studies.” Because after reading what I’m about to write, your notions would change !
For thousands of years, Bharat (India) has been the land of knowledge, science, and philosophy. The Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Tantra, and Ayurveda contain profound insights that continue to inspire even modern science. After 1600 CE, when European powers arrived in India, they not only sought geographical and political gains, but also deeply studied India’s vast knowledge systems. I claim, and will prove, that there is no modern science in the world whose roots cannot be traced back to Sanatan Dharma.
Why did scientific research in the West bloom after their arrival in Barat(India)?
When the East India Company arrived in 1600, and throughout the 18th century, many Western scholars came to India. For example, Sir William Jones founded the Asiatic Society in 1784. He introduced texts like Manusmriti, the Rigveda, and the Sanskrit language to Europe. Max Müller became the first person to translate the Rigveda into English. Their work wasn’t merely translational — they aimed to embed Indian philosophy into European academic institutions.
Scientific Insights in Vedic Thought:
Both the Nyaya and Vaisheshika schools of Indian philosophy describe concepts like the atom (anu), motion, light, gravity, and time, remarkably akin to modern physics. Sage Shaunaka’s Indexing System (as found in ancient texts) aligns with the core principles of modern data architecture, including Google, AI, and data indexing.
Evidence of Western Inspiration:
Nikola Tesla himself acknowledged that he read Vedanta and drew inspiration for his wave-theory of energy from it. Western philosophers such as Herbert Spencer and Arthur Schopenhauer were deeply influenced by the Upanishads. Heisenberg, Schrödinger, and Oppenheimer read the Gita and the Upanishads, treating them as spiritual foundations for their theories.
So, was this merely a coincidence?
Certainly not. It was no accident that after 1600, when India came under foreign control, Sanskrit texts were “Europeanized,” and simultaneously the Scientific Revolution took off in Europe. Rather, it was a culture-driven journey of research, whose roots lay deep in Indian Sanatan knowledge.
In conclusion:
From AI to data indexing, quantum theory to bioinformatics, many modern scientific and technological discoveries seem to echo the inspirations of Indian philosophy and the Vedas. Western countries took seeds of knowledge from Indian scriptures and translated them into the language of experimental science. That is why today we can proudly say:
“ Bharat(India) is the mother of knowledge, and modernity is its offspring.”
Victory to Sanatan is Victory to Bharat.
